STAR PROGRAM Training DVD Series
This DVD series provides narrated video examples and discussions of lessons taught in the STAR Program for Levels 1, 2 and 3. The video examples show teachers and children conducting a few trials of each lesson. Narration and captions will help you understand key concepts shown in these lessons. These example lessons can be accessed through a simple menu system on your computer or DVD player. These DVD's provide a valuable resource to train staff and to obtain a video example of each lesson included in the STAR Program for Levels 1, 2 and 3. These DVD's may be used at group training sessions or as a resource on your computer to learn to teach specific STAR Program Lessons.
Content of the STAR Training DVD: Level 1
The STAR Program Training DVD: Level 1 shows examples of how to teach students with autism using discrete trial training, pivotal response training and teaching funtional routines. The content of the lessons are in the areas of expressive language, receptive language, spontaneous language, functional routines, pre-academic skills, play/social interaction skills. Learn the purpose and how to implement many of the Level 1 STAR Program Lessons from the authors of the STAR Program.
The Level 1 STAR Program Training DVD will be helpful if your student has difficulty following simple commands, has no or very little language, has behavior issues when asked to do a simple task, and may not interact with other children.
The STAR Program Training DVD: Level 1 will provide information on how to teach students to:
• Understand basic language concepts.
• Start to use verbal language to request desires.
• Follow simple routines such as arrival to an activity area, departure from an activity area, circle time, or snack time.
• Begin to participate in independent constructive play.
Content of the STAR Training DVD: Level 2
The STAR Program Training DVD: Level 2 shows examples of the Level 2 programs from the STAR Program. There is an example lesson shown for each of the 54 Level 2 programs. The content of the Level 2 Lessons are a natural developmental progression from the STAR Level 1 Lessons. Lessons are taught using the techniques of discrete trial trianing, pivotal response training and teaching functional routines. The STAR Level 2 Lessons are in six content areas: expressive language, receptive language, spontaneous language, functional routines, pre-academic skills and play/social interaction skills.
The Level 2 STAR Program Training DVD is helpful if your student often follows some simple commands, but has difficulty with 2-step commands or more complex requests. Additionally, if your student uses only one word (or picture) to request desires, understands only simple nouns, plays only in isolation and follows simple routines, this level would be appropriate.
The STAR Program Training DVD: Level 2 provides information on how to teach students to:
• Follow 2-step commands.
• Use multiple words to make requests.
• Use simple verbs such as "sleeping, eating and crying".
• Learn the names of other children.
• Play interactively.
• Identify numbers, letters and a few sight words.
• Answer "wh" questions.

STAR PENNY TOKEN BOARD
The STAR Penny Token Board is an efficient token reinforcement system that can be used to teach students with autism. The Penny Token Board can be used in conjunction with any ABA program or as an individual student token system that can be used throughout the day. The Penny Token Board comes with a detailed manual on “how to teach” the student using the Penny Token Board. There are three Penny Token Boards available for use with students at Level I,II and III of the STAR Program. The Penny Token Board can help students to learn to wait for their reward, to count to five, to understand the value of money and provides a system to learn new skills.

Teach your student to use a token board. This token board can be used with the beginning level student with autism. The student earns one to five pennies for a reward. This package includes three Level 1 Penny Boards. The CD Manual is sold separately (see below).

Naturally expand the number of responses required to earn a reward. Start to teach your student the value of a penny, nickel and dime. Student earns pennies and trades them for nickels. FACTER PROGRAM WITH DVD
The purpose of the FACTER is to assess and teach students with developmental disabilities to be independent. FACTER addresses the ability to perform typical everyday “routines” while incorporating essential “related skills” for living. These routines can be task anayzed into a number of core steps for assessment and instructional purposes. Routines are important because they provide specific purpose and enable us to become more independent in our lives. The complete FACTER Program includes a Program Manual, and a package of 5 Elementary or Secondary Student Booklets and the FACTER DVD.
